During World War II, there were silver deficiencies in Denmark and remelting duty was introduced, ie you had to hand in the same amount of silver as you wanted to buy.
Thereby, demand arose for a large number of minor effects in silver and steel.

Georg Jensen starts producing things in steel in 1941, their well-known Mitra/Canute cutlery is the first thing they produced in steel and quickly follows a large number of things. Among other things, these salt vessels designed by Harald Nielsen.

They all show signs of use.
1 is missing its ring base and the others have marks in the steel.
