They are framed in black wooden frames and therefore we cannot see the back.
A couple of silhouettes plates from Royal Copenhagen.

The plates depicts H.M. Queen Margrethe 2nd of Denmark and Prince Henrik.
They are released in relation with the couple's engagement, so the plates actually show Successor to the throne Margrethe and Henri Marie Jean André de Laborde de Monpezat. Please do note the oppen crown over his head, compared to the closed on hers.

The couple's relationship had been revealed by the Danish press before it was made official and before the Council of State could gather and approve the engagement. On the opening day of the Parliament in 1966, King Frederick, 9, drove his daughter to the Council of State and the engagement was approved and made public.
