English box in silver from 1817

Height 3 cm.

Stamped: The lion for sterling silver, panther head for London, b for the year 1817 and IT for either Joseph Taconet or Joseph Thredder who both used this master mark.

The box is an unusual shape with a much larger upper part than the lower part.
It is beautifully decorated with shells, seed beads and leaves.

The box is in good condition, but possibly replaced locking mechanism.
